What you make is yours to do whatever; I ask you to credit the pattern to me. Thanks. ;)
Skill Set: Easy
Worsted Weight Cotton
Dc – Double Crochet
Hd – Half Double Crochet
Sc - Single Crochet
Rsc – Reverse Single Crochet, aka crap stitch
Sk - skip
Slp - Slip Stitch
3dec – 3 st decrease using that rounds st (uses 3 stitches)
for hd – yo, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up a loop, yo, sk 1,
insert hook into next st, pull up a loop, yo, pull through all loops on hook.
For dc – yo, insert hook into next st, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull
through 2 loops, yo, sk 1, insert hook in next, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull
through 2 loops, yo, pull through all loops.
·
Make your chains on round 1 pretty loose; you
work both the top and bottom of each stitch in the following round.
·
You
work in the back bump of the chain in round 1. Working in the back bump of Rnd
1 creates a uniform look on both top and bottom of the stitch. It also helps to
reduce that question of ‘which loop(s) is the next stitch’ when working the
bottom side.
Foundation Rnd 1:
Ch 19, *sc
in back bump of 3nd ch from hook and next 4, ch 7, sc in back bump
of 3nd ch from hook and next 4*, dc in back bump of next 12 ch’s of
beginning ch, ch 7, rep * to * 1x, join to 1st ch.
Rnd 2:
Ch 2, hd in same as join and next 11, *sk 1, (hd next 3, 2hd next, 4 hd
in end ch, 2hd next, hd next 3), dec, rep ( to ) 1x, sk 1*, sc next 12, rep *
to * 1x, join.
Rnd 3:
Slp 1, Ch 2, dc next 9, 3dec, dc next 3, 2 dc next 6, dc next 3, dec, dc
next 3, 2 dc next 6, dc next 3*, 3dec, rep * to * 1x, (yo, insert hook in next,
yo, pull up loop, yo, pull through 2 loops, insert hook in top of ch 2, yo,
pull through all loops on hook, final 3dec made), join to 1st dc. *the join loop and beginning slp count 1 st, as
the sk’p st in the 3dec.
Rnd 4:
Ch 1, hd same, *hd next 9, (sk 1, sc next 18) 2x, sk 1*, rep * to * 1x,
join to first hd.
Rnd 5:
Slp 1, ch 1, hd same, *hd next 6, (yo, insert hook in next, yo, pull up
loop, sk 1, insert hook in next, pull up loop, yo, pull through all on hook),
hd next 3, (2 hd next, hd next) 6x, 3dec, (hd next, 2hd n3xt) 6x, hd next 3*,
(insert hook next, yo, pull up loop, yo, sk 1, insert hook next, yo, pull up
loop, yo pull through all loops), hd next 6, rep * to * 1x, (insert hook next,
yo, pull up loop, yo, sk 1 include the
joining loop, insert hook in beginning slp, yo, pull up loop, yo, pull
through all loops, join to 1st hd.
Rnd 6:
Ch 1, rsc each st around. Finish

That is so cute. I am making it a placemat for my pet bowls. Thanks for the pattern!
